What Inspired us to start Monarch?

Maddie will live on forever in our hearts. We love you SO much Maddie. |
You can do anything you want to do,
Pray, Believe, Have Faith,
Visualize, Dream, Trust,
and work your ass off.
~Maddie
Maddie Paguyo was a very outgoing, hilarious, and compassionate person. She was the greatest friend anyone could ask for.
On April 28th, 2003 Maddie was diagnosed with Diffuse Pontine Glioma (a brain tumor). She spent the rest of her life being
Maddie, crazy, loving, performing constantly and never without a smile on her face. On May 6th, 2004 Maddie passed away. I
know that she is looking down on us all from her mansion in heaven.
My friends and I know how wonderful Maddie was. She was always reaching out to others, helping others, even if she needed
help too. In honor of her desire to always help others, Monarch Cancer Volunteer Team was created in May 2006. We hope to
help families that are going through much of the troubles Maddie went through. We want to make it all a little easier for
them, with a card, gift, or a home visit for Minneapolis metro area residents.
I hope that Maddie is proud of us. We love you Mads! We miss you like crazy.
Much Love,
Brittany Dahlen
